Isleta Resort & Casino Take Bets on In-State College Teams

The casino has launched a temporary online sportsbook at its gambling floor. The temporary online sportsbook facility will be handling stakes while they still build a permanent sportsbook. Isleta Resort & Casino is the fourth casino in New Mexico to go live with sports gambling since the United States Supreme Court had struck down a long-standing central prohibition on the practice. The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino did cut the ribbon on a William Hill the US functioned sports gambling facility to get into the gambling market. Isleta’s conclusion to accept stakes on collegiate sports means that gamblers can gamble on gambling games that involve the University of New Mexico Lobos and the New Mexico State University Aggies. The facility will be the nation’s first to handle such wagers all year round.

Commenting on their verdict to receive wagers on collegiate sports including in-state teams, Harold Baugu, Isleta Resort & Casino CEO told the local media that “there are a big Lobo and Aggie to follow in this market”. He also added that they “feel that there is sufficient training and trials in place that taking stakes on NMSU and UNM games won’t be an issue.”

Isleta Steps into Betting Market

The news about Isleta’s plan to go live with sports betting online first arose in April 2019. The business then announced that it envisioned to bring Las Vegas-style online sports betting to its casino floor and that it found a gambling partner that will power its new offering.

Isleta teamed up with gambling technology firm US Bookmaking to launch their sports betting at its gambling floor. The property then went live with staking. Gamblers can place their bets at a provisional sportsbook that will continue to operate until a perpetual facility that is currently under construction, is finished. The enduring sportsbook is predicted to open its doors later this year. Aside from the permanent site that will have a bar, Isleta casino will also be launching its new food court towards the end of the year.

In addition to the college football and the basketball games, Isleta Resort & Casino patrons are also able to wager on professional football, professional baseball, English Premier League, PGA Golf, NASCAR and UFC and many more other sports.

Stating on the launch, Isleta’s CEO said that they are very confident that their “devoted and excellent sportsbook team” will deliver the best betting experience to bettors.
